PAOLI, PA — The Bronx was a crowded place, even in 1950, and Daylesford Crossing in Wayne is a downsize, for certain. The upscale senior living community is a place neighbors can meet and compare stories.

David Bosniack and his wife, Eve, moved from Scotch Plains, NJ to Daylesford Crossing in August, in order to be closer to family.

Shortly after moving in, they met Carl and Nancy Bruhns. Friendly chats revealed both couples had roots in New York. As they got to know each other, the couples discovered their roots were closer than just NYC or even the Bronx.

Bosniack and Bruhns were the same age. Both were raised in the Bronx, and both graduated from DeWitt Clinton High School. The school had been all-boys for nearly a century and still was when David and Carl attended; it only shifted to co-educational student enrollment in the 1980s. There were about 4,000 students at DeWitt Clinton in the 1950s, when they attended.

Nancy Bruhns still had a copy of a DeWitt Clinton high school yearbook. After checking the 1950 "Clintonian," she found that the senior portraits of the two men were not only both in the 1950 yearbook, but they appeared on the very same page.
