Who Dumped Trash at Valley Forge Elementary's Doorstep?

The incident was captured on video.

The Tredyffrin-Easttown School Board facilities committee played video at its April 12 meeting that showed a man dumping trash outside a local elementary school. The committee is seeking public assistance in identifying the man.

"The staff at Valley Forge Elementary School was greeted by a pile of trash on the front door," committee chairman Pete Motel said. "It turns out, that school has a camera."

According to the datestamp in the video, the incident occurred April 5 at 5:21 p.m.

'I Should Run You and Your Dog Over'

The trash dumping was not the only act of incivility highlighted during the meeting. Motel also recounted a story told to him by a fellow school board member.

"This board member was stopped in the neighborhood while walking their dog. And this board member was told by the person who pulled up and stopped: 'I should run you and your dog over.'

"So that's not acceptable," Motel said.

"Why would they want to run a person over?" asked board member Liz Mercogliano.

"Because of the tennis court controversy," board member Betsy Fadem replied, then amended her answer, "or discussion, or debate."

Motel urged a more civil tone, saying, "We all need to be able to live and work together in the same community."
