Winter Storm Cleared in Time for Easttown Egg Hunt

More than 100 children found 3,000-plus eggs within minutes, organizers say.

Editor's note: The following information comes from Mary Schultz of Berwyn Montessori.

More than 100 children gathered at Johnson Park Saturday for Easttown Township’s Winter Wonderland.

As volunteers started setting up for the event at 10 a.m., they experienced calmness, snow, sleet and coldness. But minutes before the delivery of the Easter Bunny on the Berwyn Fire Company Fire Truck and Tom Toscani’s whistle to start the egg hunt, the winter storm passed and it felt like a cold spring afternoon.

Within minutes, all 3,000 eggs were found and children eagerly opened their eggs to find out what prizes they won.

As Park and Recreation Board Members, Cathy Stead, Joan Stillwell and Paul Banks passed out the treasures at the prize table, Tom Toscani was helping children with games and making sure all the prize filled eggs were found.

After the egg hunt, Brownie Troops from Hillside Elementary School organized a variety of games.  Children won raffle tickets as they played the games. Dozens of gift baskets were donated by many members of the Berwyn Devon Business and Professional Association.

Children entered to win the basket or baskets of their choice.  The teachers and children of Berwyn Montessori would like to thank Easttown Township Parks and Recreation Department for sponsoring this annual event.
