Woman Charged After Box Cutter Attack: Tredyffrin Police

Tredyffrin Twp. police arrested a woman after a July 1 parking lot incident, saying she tried to kill a man, then fled in stolen vehicle.

TREDYFFRIN TOWNSHIP, PA — A woman has been charged with attempted murder after police said she attacked a man with a box cutter earlier this month in Tredyffrin Township, then left in his car. Kendra Pearsall, 32, of Philadelphia is also facing charges of aggravated assault in connection with the July 1 incident. Pearsall, who has been in police custody since July 6, is scheduled to appear for formal arraignment on Aug. 6.

The alleged attempted homicide happened in the parking lot of Devon Square Shopping Center, 700 W. Lancaster Ave. in Wayne on July 1, according to a police report. Two aggravated assault charges include descriptors of attempting to cause serious bodily injury, with extreme indifference, and attempting to cause bodily injury with a deadly weapon, court records state.

Pearsall is also charged with carjacking, receiving stolen property and reckless endangerment of another person, as well as other crimes, according to court records. Tredyffrin Twp. Police Cpl. Michael Cermignano arrested Pearson on July 6. Bail was set at $50,000.

Pearsall remains in Chester County Prison. Her formal arraignment is scheduled for 9:15 a.m. on Aug. 6 at the Chester County Justice Center, according to court records.
