Women, Wine and Tech Event In Wayne Oct 17

WAYNE, PA – Women in the tech industry and women looking to break into the industry may want to attend an upcoming event in Wayne that will feature networking, wine, and food.

Evolve IP is hosting a free "Women, Wine and Tech" event on Wednesday, Oct. 17 at its Wayne offices.

The event will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and is an opportunity for women in the Philadelphia area to share insights, collaborate and talk about the roles they play in the tech world.

It is hosted by techaWare, Evolve IP’s Women’s Technology Career Awareness group. techaWare was founded to raise awareness, educate and foster growth for women in the technology field through events, social media, volunteer work and philanthropic efforts.

Attendees will be able to enjoy a wine and food pairing selected by Sommelier Guy Fardone while meeting and networking with other women in the tech field.

"The purpose of hosting this event is to demonstrate how women can have thriving careers and contribute to the technology world," said Lindsey Elberti, Director of Organizational Development and co-founder of techaWare. "We want women to know that tech drives many non-tech positions and that they don’t have to be a programmer or engineer to work and advance in a tech company. There are many positions that are now driven by tech and we want to support programs and resources to advance women in technology."

"We want our guests to hear about our journeys entering tech, the barriers we hit, and what it takes to be successful as women in the tech world. We will also be showcasing some great wines around the world made by women. The format is informative, fun and will enhance learning, networking and foster collaboration for women in tech in our region."
