Work On Bear Hill Road Bridge To Resume Thursday In Tredyffrin

Rehabilitation work on the bridge over Norfolk Southern Railroad tracks is expected to be completed in fall this year.

TREDYFFRIN TOWNSHIP, PA — Work will start back up on the bridge carrying Bear Hill Road/Route 252 over Norfolk Southern Railroad tracks in Tredyffrin this week.

According to PennDOT, work on the bridge will resume on Thursday.

During the work, northbound and southbound lanes on Bear Hill Road will be reduced to one lane between Hilltop Road and Heatherstone Drive.

Work is expected to be completed later in the fall.

Built in 1974, the Bear Hill Road bridge over Norfolk Southern Railroad tracks is 157 feet long and 72 feet wide, which carries an average of 18,105 vehicles a day.

Construction crews will comply with Centers for Disease Control and state Department of Health guidance as well as a project-specific COVID-19 safety plan, which will include protocols for social distancing, use of face coverings, personal and job-site cleaning protocols, management of entries to the jobsite, and relevant training.
