Another New Craft Beer To Greet The Pope

Holy Wooder joins YOPO as a special beer just for Pope Francis' visit.

We heard earlier this week about a brand new craft beer made to welcome to Pope Francis when he arrives in Philadelphia next month. Now, there is another.

Philadelphia Brewing Co. has produced a new beer, appropriately titled “Holy Wooder,” in conjunction with the papal visit, the Philadelphia Business Journal reported Tuesday.The beer is a draft-only Belgian style Triple which, naturally, was developed in conjunction with the South Philly bar known as The Pub on Passyunk East (POPE.)

Holy Wooder is not to be confused with YOPO- You Only Pope Once- a brew developed by the Cape May Brewing Company.

The Philadelphia Brewing Co. offering, in its logo, describes itself as “The Official Beer of the Pope,” although it’s unclear whether or not that designation has the backing of the Vatican.
