BucksMont BizCon Brings 'Shark Tank' Style Competition To Area

“What do you get when you put two 11-year-old chefs, 3D printer inventors, sauce creators, and an education app developer in the same room?”

That’s the question posed by Melanie Stauble, public relations coordinator for the BuxMont BizCon, a contest based off the NBC show “Shark Tank.”

The answer to the question, Stauble says, is “fierce competition.” Especially when there’s $5,000 on the line.

The competition between four local entreprenuers will be the highlight of the BizCon, a convention of small business owners at The Fuge in Warminster on Thursday, October 22.

The convention will include presentations from host organizations SEOMInteractive.com, a digital marketing agency located in Bucks County, and TheBathOutlet.com, an online bathroom accessories retailer in Montgomery County.

They will focus on topics like search-engine opitmization and social media marketing for small businesses.

Organizers are hoping that the event will give local businesses a chance to inspire themselves, and help the local economy grow itself.

“As a small business owner myself, I know first-hand the challenges that exist when building, branding, and marketing a company,” Mark Kennedy, SEOM Interactive President, said in a press release. “Even with so many entrepreneurs and small business owners in this area, I quickly realized there wasn’t local forum for us to connect with and learn from each other. Why travel to Philadelphia or New York, when we can network with some of the best and brightest right here in our own backyard? I’m thrilled to finally be able to provide an opportunity to connect, share ideas, and take our businesses to new heights.”

The competition will be held at the conclusion of the conference.
