Do You Agree With A 7-Game Suspension For Papelbon's Lewd Gesture?
The Phillies pitcher grabbed his crotch after blowing a save Sunday against the Marlins.

Phillies pitcher Jonathan Papelbon has received a seven-game suspension from Major League Baseball following his ejection from Sunday’s game against the Miami Marlins.
Papelbon had just blown a save at the top of the ninth, and as he was leaving the field, he grabbed his crotch in what some saw as a lewd and rude gesture.
Papelbon, for his part, said there was no lewdness to the gesture. “I had to make an adjustment and I did it. … I am not out here doing inappropriate things,” Papelbon said after the game, according to The Morning Call.

Papelbon was ejected from the game for the gesture, and on Monday received a seven-game suspension and undisclosed fine “for his actions following the top of the ninth inning,” Major League Baseball said.
The Phillies said they supported the decision.

“The Phillies fully support the decision of the Commissioner’s Office, which has exclusive jurisdiction for on-field player behavior,” the team said in a statement. “We apologize to our fans for the actions of our player.”
Papelbon has said he does not plan to appeal the suspension, Philadelphia Magazine said. But Philly Mag wondered if the suspension was a little harsh, considering that domestic abuse in MLB frequently goes unpunished.
