Final Snow Totals In The Upper Dublin Area: How Much Fell?

Wednesday brought the largest winter storm in some time to Upper Dublin and the surrounding area. Here are the final snow totals.

UPPER DUBLIN, PA — The Upper Dublin area received around 5.3 inches of snow during the storm Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service, the largest snowfall accumulation in the area in years. That number was recorded at around 7 p.m. Wednesday night, and the final totals could be higher.

Much of the Upper Dublin area received about the average reported in Montgomery County, with final reports varying from between three and four inches to eight and nine inches on the higher end.

Here are snow totals in a few neighboring municipalities, per the National Weather Service, with these numbers reported Thursday morning:

  • Ambler: 6.5 inches
  • Skippack: 6.2 inches
  • Trappe: 7.1 inches

The final accumulation falls short of the more bullish forecasters, who saw the county getting eight inches on the short end and up to 14 inches at the high end.

However, forecasters had noted a "gradient" in the storm in the Montgomery County, which had predicted sharply different snow totals in Philadelphia: the county line was forecasted to receive four to eight inches.

Residents are reminded to make sure they clear the areas around fire hydrants when out shoveling.

Despite the heavy snowfall, very few power outages were reported Thursday morning, according to PECO. Additionally, there are no major road closures, though the county did respond to 273 accidents, 202 disabled vehicles, and more than 600 calls to 911 during the storm.
