Fort Washington Man Spread Hundreds Of Child Porn Photos: DA

Many of the child victims found pictured on the man's computer were under 10 years old, police said.

FORT WASHINGTON, PA — A Fort Washington man has been arrested after police said he shared hundreds of images and videos of child pornography from his home computer.

Jacob Weiss, 24, was caught by a specially trained Conshohocken detective who monitored a peer-to-peer file sharing site on the Internet, the Montgomery County District Attorney's Office said.

During the investigation, the detective was able to connect to the account Weiss was using and download child porn from it, according to authorities.

The IP address was traced and a warrant was served at Weiss's home in Fort Washington. A computer tower found in his bedroom contained 692 images and 38 video files of child pornography, police said.

Many of the children were under the age of 10, in various states of nudity and involved in sexual acts, according to the DA.

Weiss was charged with 300 felony counts of possessing child pornography, five counts of distributing child pornography, and related counts.

Bail was set at $50,000, which Weiss posted, and he was released. He waived his preliminary hearing.

Pretrial hearings are forthcoming.
