Golf outing raises more than $25,000 in support of financial literacy

FORT WASHINGTON, Pa. — TruMark Financial® Credit Union held its third annual Building Financial Futures Golf Classic on Monday, July 23, at Talamore Country Club, Ambler, Pa., and raised more than $25,000 in support of financial literacy.
One hundred seventeen golfers enjoyed a variety of contests in addition to 18 holes of scramble golf tournament play despite a few sporadic rain showers. Competitions included men and women’s closest to the pin, longest drive, and a putting contest. In the hole in one competition, participants vied for a chance to win $10,000.

Funds raised provide local schools with grants to purchase resources such as textbooks, computer software programs, and math manipulatives to teach the fundamentals of saving, borrowing, and investing. Without proper education, students may be left behind and become another statistic plagued with debt.
