'No County For Old Meds': Drug Take Back Day Locations In And Near Upper Dublin

UPPER DUBLIN, PA -- The prescription pills that contribute to or lead directly to addiction have often been traveling for many years to come to that point. In fact, according to authorities, unused or expired prescription medications lingering in homes are one of the leading contributors to addiction.

Police departments around Montgomery County will be participating in an upcoming Drug Take Back Day on Saturday, April 29, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. A full list of drop-off sites is included below.

The event is organized biannually by the District Attorney's Office.

In addition to helping fight addiction, safe and proper disposal of prescription medications helps fight pollution, officials said. Flushing medicine down the toilet is not safe.

The following medications will be accepted:

• Prescription tablets and capsules
• Over-the-counter tablets and capsules
• Liquid medications
• Inhalers
• Creams and ointments
• Nasal sprays
• Pet medications
