Springfield Township To Be Sprayed For West Nile Virus
Parts of Springfield Township will be sprayed to help control the mosquito population and limit West Nile Virus.

SPRINGFIELD TOWNSHIP, PA — Parts of Springfield Township will be sprayed to help control the mosquito population and limit West Nile Virus.
The spraying will take place on Tuesday, Aug. 14 from 8:15 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.. Spraying will take place within the yellow areas outlined on the map above.
The affected area is bounded by E. Pennsylvania Ave, Station Ave., Fort Washington Expressway (Route 309), and E. Valley Green Road.

A rain date for the spraying has been set for Aug. 21.
The spraying will target areas where mosquitoes breed with Duet duel-action adulticide. Spray will be dispersed at a rate of .75 ounces per acre.

Spraying is also planned for nearby Whitpain Township and Montgomery County Community College on Aug. 15.

It is recommended that residents stay indoors for the duration of the spraying and for about 30 minutes after.
