Transgender Man Alleges Giant Forced Him To Wear Women's Clothes: Report

A Philadelphia transgender man is suing Giant supermarkets after alleged incidents of discrimination at the Huntington Valley location at which he worked, according to reports.

Sam Melrath, 22, who was born female but identifies as male, said he was forced to wear a female uniform, an NJ.com report states.

Melrath said he was hired when he was in high school as a bagger and immediately pressured to be a male in the workplace, according to the report.

He added that management at the Huntington Valley store forced him to wear a name tag that read “Samantha” and also to cut his hair shorter, the report states.

When Melrath protested the ”overly feminine” dress code he said was being impressed upon him he tried to speak with management, but they shot him down, according to reports.

“You get what you get, and you will like it,” Melrath was reportedly told by his supervisor.
