Two Montgomery County Towns Named Among Pennsylvania's 50 Safest
What are the "safest" towns in Montgomery County?

Two Montgomery County townships are among the 50 safest in all of Pennsylvania, one new study says.
Lower Salford (13) and Upper Gwynedd (28) both made the cut of the state’s safest cities, according to SafeWise, a home security and safety company.
SafeWise created the ranking by using FBI data from all cities with over 5,000 residents, they said. Statistics examined included violent crimes, property crimes, and the crime rate per 1,000 people

Lower Salford was noted for its open public space and and the extra work done by law enforcement:
Lower Salford Township residents come together to do things like plant community gardens and beautify their parks and neighborhoods. But they’re not the only ones working to make Lower Salford a great place to live. In addition to performing traditional law enforcement duties, police officers conduct security inspections of residences and commercial buildings and keep an eye on homes when owners are on vacation. Proactive measures like these help keep crime under control.

The township had only 32 violent crimes per 1000 residents.
Towamencin, which made the cut in 2013, was not in the top 50 for 2015’s report. Upper Gwynedd (24) and Lower Salford (8) are repeats from that year.
