Upper Dublin On Philly Mag's '40 Best' High Schools List

Upper Dublin High School made Philly Mag's list of the "40 Best" in the region.

UPPER DUBLIN, PA — A new ranking from Philadelphia Magazine analyzes the best high schools in and around Philadelphia, and Upper Dublin was included on the list.

Upper Dublin made the magazine's "40 Best Public High Schools in Philadelphia and the Suburbs."

The school was joined by five other schools from Montgomery County: Harriton, Lower Merion, Jenkintown, Lower Moreland, and Spring-Ford.

The ranking was created after analysis of public data from Pennsylvania and New Jersey departments of education, and the National Center for Education Statistics, according to the magazine. Factors taken into account when preparing the list include graduation rates, student to teacher ratio, and SAT scores.

"These schools make up the top fifth of our separate rankings of Philadelphia district and charter schools (81 total) and suburban public schools in the Greater Philadelphia region (127 total)," the magazine said.

According to the magazine, Upper Dublin has 1,330 students with a 98 percent graduation rate and an 93 percent college attendance rate.

It's got a 14:1 student-teacher ratio and an average 598 verbal and 591 math SAT scores.
