UPPER DUBLIN, PA — Parents, environmentalists, and neighborhood groups in the Upper Dublin area are rallying together to save a beloved local park from being turned into a bus depot.
A rally was held at the Field of Dreams complex on Tuesday night, where supporters of the local green space held signs and were joined by dozens of children who use the fields.
Supporters then attended Upper Dublin School Board meeting at the high school shortly thereafter, where many voiced their concerns.

"Please keep the Field of Dreams, as it is a treasured open space in our township for our community, our students and our environment," urges a Change.org petition, which, as of Tuesday morning, had over 1,100 signatures.
Supporters cite the use of the fields for local soccer and baseball games and tournaments, as well as picnics. They also point to its environmental importance in flood prevention, as it sits in the midst of an area surrounded by impervious surfaces.

The planned bus depot would also bring additional traffic to an already crowded area, parents said.
A final decision was not made during Monday night's meeting, though a vote on the matter is expected before the end of the year.
The fields were built in 1995.
