We asked Patch Readers what they thought the biggest safety issues were in their town. Here’s a list of the most pressing problems, from break-ins to traffic jams:

  • "Bow hunting from September to January in Upper Dublin's open spaces, along our walking trails and close to houses. The Commissioners have stated that this is an ineffective means to control the deer population. There needs to be a moratorium to figure this problem out."
  • "Lack of sidewalks on some of the major roads to connect neighborhoods to schools and shopping centers. i.e. Dreshertown Road., Limekiln Pike, etc."
  • "People need to keep their dogs on leashes. This invisible fence thing doesn't work."
  • "The intersection of Pennsylvania Ave, Garden Rd and Twinning Road. An accident waiting to happen!"
  • "Speeding down Twining road! I live on this street and people find it necessary to go 45 or more. The speed limit is 25!"
  • "The intersection of Twining needs a turn arrow making a left on to Susquehanna from Twining. ..."
  • "I agree with the lack of sidewalks. I have a neighbor that I see walking down Limekiln between North Hills Ave. and Jenkintown Rd. near the golf course many days a week. ..."
  • "I agree with the lack of sidewalks. I love to walk outside and quite often run out of sidewalk."
  • "Yes, people speed on Ft. Washington way too much and there are no sidewalks. A lot of school age kids live on this stretch of Ft Washington between Welsh and Limekiln."
  • "All drivers speeding through school zones; some parents included. The majority of said speeders also do not have their children properly secured in the car. i.e. no car seat, no seat belts and/or sitting in the front seat at 5 years old."
