Six Bucks County towns have ranked among the safest places in Pennsylvania, according to a new analysis. Buckingham Township was the highest-ranked Bucks County town, coming in 15th on SafeWise's list of safest places in the Keystone State.
SafeWise, a home security and safety website, used the most recent FBI crime report statistics and population data to prepare the rankings. Cities with fewer than 5,000 residents were not included in the analysis.
Other Bucks County towns that made the list include Warwick Township (28th), Newtown Township (38th), Northampton Township (47th), New Britain Township (67th) and Plumstead Township (83rd).

The safest town in Pennsylvania, according to the SafeWise analysis, is Paint Township in Somerset County. Redstone Township in Fayette County was listed in second place and Luzerne Township in Fayette County was third.

According to SafeWise, Pennsylvania's crime rate is approximately 25 percent lower than the national average. Property crime is on the downturn in Pennsylvania, with the rates of burglary, larceny-theft, and motor vehicle theft all dropping from 2014 to 2015, the analysis says.
"Buckingham Township—with over 20,000 residents—reported just three violent crimes," the analysis says.
