WARMINSTER, PA — Centennial School District Superintendent David Baugh is staying in town.

Baugh, who had been a finalist for a superintendent job in Montana, withdrew his name from contention for that job, he told the Intelligencer.

Last week, Baugh was named one of three finalists for the job of superintendent of Missoula County Public Schools in Missoula, Montana. He was scheduled to interview with that system's school board on Thursday afternoon.

But he told the Intelligencer he withdrew his name from consideration shortly before the board of trustees began deliberating Thursday night. He told the paper he "realized it wasn't a great fit for me at this point" and that he wanted to stay at Centennial.

The Missoulian reports that Baugh withdrew about an hour before the board met on Thursday.

Baugh took the top schools post at Centennial in 2015 after serving as acting superintendent in nearby Neshaminy School District and as superintendent of Bensalem Township schools from 2011-15.

The Missoula County trustees offered the job to Rob Watson, the superintendent of Bozeman School District in Montana. He will take over on July 1.
