Code Blue Issued, Warminster Church Is Emergency Shelter

A 'Code Blue' has been announced in Bucks County. Temperatures are expected to dip into the teens overnight on Wednesday and Thursday.

The Bucks County Emergency Management Agency has issued a "Code Blue" declaration for this Tuesday, Dec. 12 through Thursday, Dec. 14. A Warminster church will be an emergency shelter.

Temperatures are expected to dip into the teens overnight on Wednesday and Thursday.

The Code Blue declaration begins at 7 p.m. on Tuesday and goes through 7 a.m. on Thursday. The following on-call churches will activate their emergency shelters:

  • Emmaus Rd. Lutheran Church, 2185 Bristol Oxford Valley Rd., Levittown
  • Neshaminy Warwick Presbyterian Church, 1401 Meetinghouse Rd, Warminster
  • Quakertown Masonic Lodge, 501 W. Broad St., Quakertown

The on-call church volunteers will coordinate transportation, temporary shelter, food and other necessities.

In addition, the County Emergency Management Director and Health Director have notified local public safety officials of the Code Blue declaration and are advising all residents to be aware of another period of severe weather conditions.

County residents are urged to check on their elderly neighbors and pets during this period of frigid weather.

Tuesday's low temperatures will be about 20. A low of 15 is expected on Wednesday, and a low of 18 is expected Thursday.
