Fire Destroys Homes At Old Navy Base In Warminster (ICYMI)
Firefighters arrived Sunday morning to find one housing unit collapsed and two others on fire.

WARMINSTER, PA — Firefighters on Monday were investigating the cause of a fire that tore through several homes at the old navy base in Warminster.
Fire crews were called shortly before 6 a.m. Sunday to the Shenandoah Woods housing complex, in the 1200 block of Orion Drive at the former site of Johnsville Naval Air Development Center.
According to Warminster Fire Department, a crew arrived to find one housing unit already collapsed and two others fully in flames. Firefighters searched those buildings before battling what officials called a "stubborn fire."

According to Hartsville Fire Co., which also responded to the blaze, firefighters' efforts were slowed by a lack of fire hydrants in the area. Instead, firefighters relied on their own water tankers to battle the blaze for about three hours.
There were no injuries reported in the fire.

The Johnsville base shut down in 1996. Investigators were investigating the cause Monday, but fire officials told 6ABC that, in the past, fires in the buildings have been caused by squatters.
