WARMINSTER, PA — The recent closing of Metro Diner in Warminster was a "business decision," a spokesman for the company said on Wednesday.

"We made the difficult decision to close the Metro Diner location in Warminster," Crafton Bryant, a spokesman for the Florida-based restaurant chain, told Patch in an email. "This is strictly a business decision and is not a reflection of our team's dedication to serving the community."

Located at 35 Street Rd. in Warminster, the restaurant had been well-loved among some local diners, many of whom had taken to social media in recent days to ask about the sudden closure.

The first restaurant that would become Metro Diner was founded in Jacksonville, Fla., in 1938. It was renamed Metro Diner in 1992 and began franchising in 20011. The chain now has locations in 14 states.
