Obituary: Edward Rickner, 67, Warminster Firefighter

WARMINSTER, PA — The Hartsville Fire Company in Warminster has announced the passing of one of its own.

Edward (Lloyd) Rickner, 67, died on Sunday, Nov. 24, after a battle with cancer. He had been diagnosed in September 2018, according to the fire department.

Born on May 5, 1952, Rickner joined the Hartsville Fire Company on his 16th birthday in 1968. He was an active firefighter until his cancer diagnosis.

"He was our brother firefighter, a life member and a great friend," the company said in a Facebook post. "He will be missed."

A memorial service for Rickner will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 7, at the Neshaminy Warwick Presbyterian Church, at 1401 Meetinghouse Rd. in Warminster. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Hartsville Fire Company, 1195 York Rd., Hartsville, PA 18974 or Neshaminy-Warwick Presbyterian Church, 1401 Meetinghouse Rd., Warminster, PA 18974.
