Popeyes Chicken Coming To Warminster Steak 'N Shake Spot

The ill-fated burger joint closed after catching fire just days after it opened last year.

WARMINSTER, PA — A new fast food restaurant is coming to the former site of the Steak 'N Shake in Warminster.

Popeyes Chicken is currently in the process of moving into the building at 380 W. Street Rd., township officials confirmed to Patch on Tuesday.

A spokesperson for the Louisiana-style chicken chain did not immediately respond to a message seeking details on Tuesday.

The new restaurant will open a new chapter at the location, after the ill-fated effort by Steak 'N Shake. The "home of the Steakburger" was much anticipated when it opened its doors in Warminster on Jan. 17, 2019.

But the restaurant caught fire just one day after opening to big crowds in a location that, before that, had been a Friendly's. It would be nearly four months before the Steak 'N Shake opened for business again.
