See The Storm Damage In Warminster: Photos, Videos
The National Weather Service was checking into whether a tornado touched down in Warminster in the overnight hours.

WARMINSTER, PA — Warminster Township was one of the hardest-hit areas by heavy storms that crashed through Bucks County overnight.
A National Weather Service crew was working Friday to determine whether any of the storms in town reached tornado conditions. But, in the mean time, even as residents were dealing with power outages, many were sharing evidence of the storm's wrath Friday.

On Facebook, Warminster resident Pat Mertons Boyle shared photos of a massive tree that was knocked down onto her father's home. She said it was one of the last remaining trees that had lined the driveway to the farmhouse on property that became the Johnsville Naval Air Base in the 1940s.
Joan Vellucci shared an image showing the massive root bed of a tree that had been ripped out of the ground on her neighbor's property.

"It was unbelievable the sound, the wind, the house seemed to shake. It sounded like the outside was going to come through the bedroom windows/wall," Warminster resident Scott Derosa said in an email to Patch. He shared these photos:



Video and photos posted by Ray Leichner, a storm chaser and weather consultant, on Twitter showed multiple trees in Warminster either sheared in half or uprooted. Some had fallen on homes and power lines, while others toppled traffic signs and blocked roads.

Leichner also showed what part of the township looked like shortly after 7 a.m. in an area where power was out.
