Shelters Open For Chilly 'Code Blue' In Bucks Co.

With temperatures forecast to drop down into the teens this week, Bucks County officials have declared a "Code Blue" — which is called any time temperatures drop below 20 degrees.

The code has been activated from 7 p.m. on Wednesday through 7 a.m. on Saturday.

Shelters will be open at the following locations:

  • Emmaus Road Lutheran Church, 2185 Bristol-Oxford Valley Rd., Levittown (215-946-2155)
  • Neshaminy Warwick Presbyterian Church, 1401 Meetinghouse Rd., Warminster (215-343-6060)
  • Quakertown Masonic Lodge, 501 West Broad St., Quakertown (215-536-8452)

According to the National Weather Service, temperatures in Lower Bucks County are forecast to drop as low as 15 degrees Wednesday night. Thursday's high will only reach 27, followed by a drop down to 19 degrees Thursday night, according to the weather service.

Friday's high will be 34 degrees, with a low of 20 on Friday night.
