To support the completion of Lions Pride Park, ShopRite of Warminster has graciously agreed to hold a fundraising campaign to raise awareness and collect donations for the park. The store, located at 942 West Street Road, Warminster, is collecting donations at checkout counters through the end of March, 2020.

The funds raised will be used towards the construction and maintenance of Lions Pride Park, which began construction in fall 2019. The park is expected to open in spring 2020.

ShopRite cashiers and managers are well-versed in the amenities and different features of the park and are able to answer shoppers’ questions about Lions Pride Park, which will be a multi-generational park and has been designed with full accessibility as its main focus. Organizers of the park say it will be a unique attraction in the region providing recreational opportunities for people of all ages and abilities.

Lions Pride Park was once the site of the Twin Oaks Day Camp and is being converted into a state of the art, 17-acre recreational, educational and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant park for visitors of all ages and all abilities. The Warrington Township Lions Club, with support from numerous community partners, has raised over $1,650,000 to date and hopes to raise the remaining funds with the help of the ShopRite fundraiser.

“We are very appreciative of ShopRite and Cowhey Family Supermarkets for their commitment and willingness to support Lions Pride Park as a regional destination,” said Barry Luber, Warrington Township Manager.

The park is currently under construction at Folly and Bradley Roads in Warrington Township and is designed to be enjoyed by people of all generations and all abilities. It will be fully accessible and will include Kids Mountain, The Grove, and a walking trail around the park that connects to other Township walking paths. The park will enhance the local environment with features like a recently completed rain garden and a future pond to wetland conversion that will have value for biodiversity and educational purposes. A smart phone app is under development that will enable people to learn about features of the park and find their way through the park. Donations for the park are also being accept online at www.lionspridepark.org/donate.
