Thief Stole $1,400 In Candy From Bucks Co. Wawa: Police

In four different thefts, the sweet-toothed shoplifter has nabbed an impressive $1,462 worth of candy, Lower Southampton Police say.

FEASTERVILLE, PA— Police in Bucks County are on the lookout for a thief who somehow managed to steal more than $1,400 worth of candy during four separate thefts at the same Wawa store.

Lower Southampton Township Police say the four incidents happened over the past few days at the Wawa at Philmont Avenue and Street Road in Feasterville. Altogether, they say, the thief has made off with a whopping $1,462 worth of candy.

According to police, the man would simply stuff his bag with candy, then leave the store without paying.

The police department's public affairs folks, whose news releases suggest they've never met a corny joke they didn't like, couldn't resist having fun with this one.

"If you know someone that is bragging about his vast candy collection or smells abnormally like chocolate, caramel or even nougat without a good reason, we want to hear from you," they wrote in a news release.
