Trump Store Opens In Bucks Co.

From shot glasses to MAGA caps, all things Trump are for sale at the shop, which opened Tuesday morning in Bensalem.

BENSALEM, PA — On a rainy Tuesday morning, a new Bucks County store opened up between a bakery and a travel agency, peddling a uniquely 2020 product — all things Donald J. Trump.

The Trump Store, at 2060 Street Road in Bensalem, is a one-stop shop for merchandise related to the 45th president, from the ubiquitous red "Make America Great Again" caps and T-shirts to more-unusual items such as Trump shot glasses, Trump flags and phony money with Trump's face on the bill.

Despite cloudy skies and a constant drizzle, a steady crowd of Trump fans checked out the shop Tuesday morning. Customers examined the shop's coffee mugs and water bottles, sweatshirts and caps, flags, signs and more.

The store is the brainchild of Michael Domanico of Chalfont, who opened it along with his wife, Monica. In addition to a construction company, Domanico is the owner of Sik-Nastee Apparel Co.. and he's been selling political merchandise for a while.

After two months of running a booth at Neshaminy Mall in Bensalem, he said it was time for his own storefront.

"I just needed more space and more items," he said. "And I'm not required to have Democrat items," which he said the mall's management encouraged.

Early on, Domanico said, he was open to selling apparel and other items from across the political spectrum. But after attending events such as Trump's recent rally in Wildwood, New Jersey, he said the market for such items became pretty clear.

"I could just tell by demand," he said. "Trump people are very passionate. They want hats. They want mugs. But the Democratic people don't. They just support not liking Trump."

While the Facebook event page for the store's opening drew some hostile comments, there was no sign of a negative reaction at the store itself as of Tuesday morning.

The Bensalem shop will be open 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday. And Domanico says a second shop, at Willow Grove Mall, is in the works and could be open as soon as April.

As the business grows, Domanico says he's confident he won't run into interference from what might seem like an unlikely adversary — Trump himself. In the past, the Trump organization has sent cease-and-desist letters to online marketers using his name and likeness to sell merchandise.

While the items his store sells aren't official campaign merchandise, Domanico said he thinks the campaign likes the promotional nature of what he does.

"I've been at official Trump rallies, and there have been 50 other (vendors) outside," he said. "They encourage it."
