As the (relatively) new Director of the Warminster Library, I am thrilled to be able to share information, stories and news about the library in The Warminster Patch. But first, if you will indulge, a bit about me.
I grew up in this area and started what became my library career at the Abington Free Library about 30 years ago. I graduated from Beaver College (when it was still Beaver College), and soon after, moved to Seattle. After not seeing the sun for 96 days, I figured I had enough of the grey and rain so, with a dart throw at a map, wound up in Clearwater, Florida. I worked for the Clearwater Public Library System for over 15 years at a variety of positions. I lived and worked very close to the Phillies Spring Training facility, and was a frequent game attendee. I had the opportunity to move back to the area in 2016, and am overjoyed to be in this marvelous community.
I love libraries. I can hear the “Duh. That’s part of her job” ringing in your head. But there’s so much to love about a place whose main purpose is to welcome everyone and offer free access to all sorts of stuff. Yes, we have print books, but we also offer free music and movie downloads, ebooks and audio books. We have Storytimes (Tues, Wed & Thurs, 10:30 am), and programs such as: Can You Hear Me? Hearing Education (Thursday, 11/8, 1pm), DIY Ornaments (Tuesday, 11/27, 6pm), and our Adulting 101: Sewing Basics (Wednesday, 11/14, 6pm).

We also have welcoming (and relatively quiet) spaces for you to sit and read, work on your own device or our computers, or work collaboratively.
I could go on and on. The best thing to do? Come in and check us out. A library card is a gateway to all sorts of wonderful things. I can’t wait to see you @ the Library.
