Chesco Under Tornado Watch and Flood Advisory Monday Afternoon
Double alerts went out Monday afternoon for Chester and Delaware counties; a tornado watch and a flood alert.
CHESTER COUNTY, PA — The National Weather Service issued a Tornado Watch for Chester and nearby counties at 1 p.m. Monday, to last until 7 p.m.
The watch includes Bucks; Chester; Delaware; Montgomery; Philadelphia counties.
The Tornado Watch came shortly after the National Weather Service also issued a Flood Advisory for Chester and Delaware counties.

Flood Advisory issued at 12:15 p.m. Monday will also last until 3:15 p.m. It includes Chester and Delaware counties as well as northern New Castle County in Delaware.
The National Weather Service center in Mount Holly said Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms and warned minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area.

Named in the Flood Advisory area are West Chester, Chester, Phoenixville, Coatesville, Westtown, Downingtown, Folcroft, Swarthmore, Elsmere, and Kennett Square.
Also included is a section of the Pennsylvania Turnpike between exits 306 and 324.
Interstate 95 in Pennsylvania between mile markers 0 and 9, Interstate 95 in Delaware between mile markers 15 and 23, and Interstate 476 in Pennsylvania between mile markers 0 and 12.
A Flood Advisory means river or stream flows are elevated, or ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.
