Chesco Woman Of Distinction Nominations Open Now
Know of a woman or business in Chesco who's really helping women? The Fund for Women and Girls is taking names.
WEST CHESTER, PA — The Fund for Women and Girls is now accepting nominations for the 2021 Gladys Black ‘Woman of Distinction' Award and the 2021 Corporate Champion of Change Award.
Named in memory of The Fund’s late board member and friend, the Gladys Black ‘Woman of Distinction’ Award recognizes a Chester County woman who has contributed to the advancement of other women in professional and leadership roles.
The Corporate Champion of Change Award will be granted to a local business or company that exemplifies a commitment to increasing economic opportunities and advancement for women through their business practices and workplace culture. Nominations are open to the public and must be received by 5 p.m. on July 16, the organization said in a news release.

Previous Gladys Black ‘Woman of Distinction' Award Honorees are Charmaine Spence Rochester (2020); Dr. Lorraine Bernotsky (2019); Roberta Torian (2018); and Patricia Miller (2017). Previous Corporate Champion of Change Award Honorees are SEI (2020); First Resource Bank (2019); West Pharmaceutical Services, Inc. (2018); and Fox Rothschild LLC (2017).
Both 2021 award honorees will be recognized during The Fund’s Champions of Change Event. This year, The Fund will host its 5th Annual Champions of Change Event on Oct. 27 at The Farmhouse Bistro at People's Light and Theater in Malvern.

Funds raised will support The Fund’s philanthropic, educational, and advocacy programs that ensure women and girls have resources and opportunities to thrive.
The Fund for Women and Girls, whose motto is, "Igniting Change in Chester County," states its mission is to lead and unite the community through philanthropy and advocacy to ensure that women and girls have resources and opportunities to thrive. Over the past 25 years, The Fund has awarded over$3.5 million to 80 local non-profit organizations serving women and girls.
