WEST CHESTER, PA — Anyone over the age of 12 is now eligible for a COVID-19 Pfizer vaccination in Chester County, and health department clinics will be ready with the shots Thursday morning.

Chester County Health Department officials announced Wednesday afternoon the health department will offer the Pfizer vaccine for those ages 12-15 at its walk-in or drive-thru clinics, with or without an appointment, starting the morning of May 13. The announcement followed the CDC's Advisory Committee on Immunization Practice (ACIP) recommendation of the Pfizer vaccine for the age group.

"The COVID-19 vaccine continues to prove itself as the greatest weapon that we have in fighting this virus, so we welcome the news that the FDA has expanded the emergency use authorization of the Pfizer vaccine to include those age 12 to 15," said Jeanne Franklin, Director of the Chester County Health Department.
