Chester County Health Dept. marked 6 months of vaccinating with 93 percent of adult residents vaccinated and 28 new COVID-19 cases.

CHESTER COUNTY, PA — Only 28 new COVID-19 cases were reported in the last seven days in Chester County, as the County's positivity rate stayed below 1 percent another week running, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Health.
It's been just over six months since Chester County started vaccinating against COVID-19. On Dec. 23, 2020, the Chester County Health Department administered its first doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. The Chester County Health Department reported this week that 93 percent of residents over 18 have had at least one vaccine dose, and 85 percent of residents over 12 are vaccinated here.
A July 2 report from the state DOH said Chester County's incidence rate was 5.3 per 100,000 residents in the week ended July 2, down from 7.4 per 100,000 residents in the week before.

Also disappearing is the County's COVID-19 dashboard. Effective July 1, the COVID dashboards for test results, cases, deaths, and long-term care facilities for Chester County and Delaware County will no longer be available, the Chester County Health Department announced this week.
The Health Department will continue to post COVID-related data on Fridays in its Weekly COVID Data Update.
"We continue to monitor case counts and updates on COVID-19 variants so that we can respond accordingly if needed. The single best way to reduce the spread of the COVID-19 is through vaccination. You can still receive a COVID vaccine through the Health Department," the Health Department said this week.
