No School Friday for WCASD

All schools and offices in the West Chester Area School District will be closed on Friday January 3, 2014 due to expected snow, high winds and wind chills below zero. 

The forecast is calling for 4-7 inches of snow in the West Chester area but sustained winds of more than 20 mph and gusts of 35 mph are expected to create blizzard-like conditions until shortly after daybreak on Friday. With potential snow drifts occurring all day, even a two hour delay would be difficult to do under these conditions.  Buses would have a difficult time getting through many roads and children will be waiting at bus stops in temperatures well below zero.
