Steady Snow Adds To February's Pileup In Chesco

Parts of Chester County got 3.5 more inches of snow during the day on Monday, on the heels of two other February storms.

CHESTER COUNTY, PA — Some of Monday's heavier snowfall in southeastern Pennsylvania was in Chester County, where 3.5 inches were measured in South Coventry Township.

Chesco has been under a winter weather advisory in place until 6 p.m. Monday.

Some places in Berks County had 4 inches of snow by Monday afternoon, but most of the region had gotten about 2 inches of snowfall before precipitation tapered off.

A warming trend is forecast to follow the snow, with temperatures reaching 50 degrees on Wednesday, the National Weather Service said.

  • South Coventry Township, 3.5 inches at 11:50 a.m.
  • West Caln Township, 3.0 inches at 12 p.m.
  • East Nantmeal Township, 2.8 inches at 11:30 a.m.
  • Oxford 2.8 inches at 12 p.m.
  • East Coventry Township, 2.3 inches at 11:38 a.m.
  • East Fallowfield Township, 2.0 inches at 10:38 a.m.
  • Phoenixville 2.0 inches at 11:41 a.m.
  • Jennersville 1.6 inches at 11:36 a.m.
  • Malvern 1.5 inches at 10:45 a.m.

Late last week, seven inches of snowfall piled up in Berwyn, 9.6 inches have fallen in Paoli, and 9 inches of snow fell in Malvern by afternoon on Feb. 18. A week earlier another storm moved through, each bringing snow and ice.
