Watch: West Chester Police Post Video Asking Drivers To Watch For Emergency Vehicles On Side Of Highway
"We wear bullet proof vests, but our vest can't stop these bullets," police said.
The shoulder of the highway is a dangerous place to stop.
To emphasize that point, West Chester police shared a video on the department’s Facebook page today showing footage of absentminded drivers ramming into vehicles -- both emergency and privately owned -- pulled over to the side of the road.
“If you see an emergency vehicle on the side of the roadway, please slow down and pay attention to the road,” police said. “Help keep our responders safe!”
