Ducklings Rescued From Yardley Storm Drain: Police

In a rather adorable accident, a flock of little ducklings tumbled into a Yardley storm drain Thursday morning. Thankfully, they were saved.

YARDLEY, PA — Between six and eight little ducklings who fell into a Yardley storm drain Thursday morning were saved by concerned citizens, Yardley Borough Police, and an expertly-handled rake.

“It appears our increased enforcement of No Trespassing at the Yardley Walk Upper Dam, while successful, has had some unintended consequences,” police joked on Facebook. “Now the ducks are avoiding the stream.”

The feathered family was walking down Creekview Drive when the babies fell into the deep storm drain, police said. By opening the grate and using a rake to corral the ducklings, their human friends were able to bring them to safety.
