PROVIDENCE, RI — This holiday season, three talented Rhode Island kids will take the stage in this year's production of "The Nutcracker" at the Providence Performing Arts Center. The three girls will dance alongside some of Rhode Island's finest dancers in the iconic ballet.

Shown in the photos above, the girls are Layla Coelho from Warren, Ella Teare-Silvia from Riverside and Adalyn Evans from Rumford. They were chosen following an open audition in September. More than 100 children were chosen from 33 towns across Rhode Island and Massachusetts, ranging in age from seven to 18. Children's roles include angel, mouse, part guest, soldier, sugar plum fairy attendant and more.

Skill levels also range from newcomers performing for the first time to young professionals already on the path to a career in dance.
