BRISTOL, RI — Businesses can now apply for funding to help take it outside in Bristol. The town was awarded $75,000 in the first round of funding from the state to help pay for needed outdoor equipment such as heating lamps, tents, lights or furniture.

The town and the Bristol Merchants Association decided to split the funding into two rounds. Applications opened for the first round Thursday and will close Tuesday. If there is money left over, applications submitted after the deadline will be considered on a first-come, first served basis.

Businesses can submit applications to the association by email, to bristolmerchantsassociationri@gmail.com. Because funding is limited, the town reminded businesses to only request funding that is absolutely needed. The application is available on the town's website.
