Bristol Fourth Of July Fireworks & Parade 2017

Here's what you need to know about the Fourth of July celebration in Bristol.

BRISTOL, RI – July is closer than you think. America's oldest continuous July 4 parade steps off at 10:30 a.m. July 4 at the corner of Chestnut and Hope streets (Route 114). The parade ends on High Street between State and Bradford streets. A parking ban goes into effect the night before. Chestnut and Naomi streets and Sherry Avenue will close to traffic at 7 a.m. Hope Street (Route 114) closes at 8 a.m., including Poppasquash Road.

And there's plenty of stuff that's happening before the parade starts. For a complete list, click here. Among the highlights, the fireworks are set for July 3 at 9:30 p.m. in Bristol Harbor. (Rain date is July 5 at 9 p.m.) Then on Independence Day at 8:30 a.m. the Patriotic Exercises kick off in front of the Colt Memorial School, Hope Street, in downtown Bristol.
