Bristol Town Administrator Contente Provides Coronavirus Vaccination & Testing Update

Dear Residents of Bristol,

I hope you are doing well. As we mark almost a year since the first case of COVID-19 in Rhode Island, I want to thank all of our residents for doing their part to reduce the spread of the virus and helping our most vulnerable population. It has been a difficult year, but there is an end in sight.

Rhode Island’s COVID-19 positivity rate continues to decline (2.1% this week), and 225,551 vaccinations have been administered statewide.

Locally, we continue to coordinate with the Rhode Island Department of Health (RIDOH) to vaccinate residents 75 years and older off of Bristol’s local vaccination waitlist.

Until all residents can get vaccinated, please continue to remain vigilant and safe.

COVID-19 Vaccine

There are several options for Bristol residents 65 years of age or older to be vaccinated:

1. State-Run Vaccination Sites: Register for a vaccine at the two state sites in Providence and Cranston here: www.vaccinateri.org/ or call 844-930-1779. We will update you as more State-Run Vaccination Sites become available.
2. Pharmacies: CVS and Walgreens are now accepting online reservations.
3. Lifespan Clinic: To register, please visit bit.ly/LifespanVax.
4. At-Home: If you are unable to leave home to receive a COVID-19 vaccination, or are the healthcare provider or family caregiver of someone who is homebound, please inform RIDOH through the following form: bit.ly/homeboundvax.

At this time, the Bristol-Run Vaccination Site is only accepting pre-registrations for residents 75 years of age and older.

COVID-19 Testing

Due to the decreased volume of residents seeking COVID-19 tests, the Town of Bristol will be adjusting its testing site hours. Beginning March 6th, 2021, the Town of Bristol will be operating its testing clinic at the Bristol Town Beach (50 Asylum Road, Bristol, RI 02809) at the following time:

• Saturdays from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM (Weather permitting)

Bristol residents are also encouraged to visit the asymptomatic pop-up COVID-19 test site, located inside the former Jos. A. Bank storefront at the Barrington Shopping Center (180 County Road, Barrington, RI 02806). That testing site is operated by the Rhode Island National Guard and runs on the following schedule:

• Tuesday-Saturday from 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
