Bristol Town Beach: Closed Due To Sewer Leak

The Town has closed the beach while repairs are made.

BRISTOL, RI — Bristol Town Beach is closed, the state health department said Monday. The reason is due to a "small leak in a sewer line near the parking area for the beach and sports complex nearby." The beach will not re-open for swimming until the state determines conditions are safe.

"The discharges have been contained, repairs are being made, and disinfection has taken place," the health department said. "However, the beach will remain closed for swimming until water quality monitoring results confirm that conditions are safe for swimming."
