Sweeney, Ley Lead In Bristol Town Council Democratic Primary
Tim Sweeney, Aaron Ley, Nathan Calouro, Bethany Foster and Adam Ramos lead in the Bristol Town Council primary.

BRISTOL, RI — The results are in for the Bristol Democratic Primary for Town Council and incumbent Timothy Sweeney leads with 457 votes, according to the Rhode Island Board of Elections.
Results reported Tuesday do not include mail-in votes, which are expected to be counted by Thursday. If the results hold, the top five candidates will move on to the general election on Nov. 3. All three incumbents — Timothy Sweeney, Aaron Ley and Nathan Calouro — were among the five in the lead:
- Timothy Sweeney
- Aaron Ley
- Nathan Calouro
- Bethany Sousa Foster
- Adam Ramos
The five winners will square off against Republican Mary Parella and independent Tony Teixiera in November.

Parella has served as a town councilor since 2004, while Teixiera will vie for a second term. The top five vote-getters in November will be elected to the Bristol Town Council.
