Huskies-Eagles Turkey Day Clash Seems One-Sided, But Who Knows?
The annual Mt. Hope versus Barrington Thanksgiving Day clash starts at 10 am at Victory Field in Barrington.

Mt. Hope High and Barrington High tangle again on Thanksgiving morning in a renewal of their annual East Bay Turkey Day rivalry. Kickoff is at 10 am at Victory Field in Barrington.
Mt. Hope trails 13-7 in the series after dropping 12 of the last 13 games. The Huskies won 6 of the first 7 contests. The game at Mt. Hope last year went down to the wire with Division I Barrington pulling out a 25-20 win over the Division II Huskies.
The Eagles, 10-1 on the season, are heavy favorites to win their seventh straight game in the series this year. Barrington will be the No. 1 seed in the upcoming Rhode Island Interscholastic League Division I playoffs with a 7-1 record. Barrington’s only loss came in its last game against Portsmouth on Nov. 15 in double overtime, 7-6, after a two-point conversion attempt was botched.

Mt. Hope bowed out of the Division II playoffs with a 42-0 loss to West Warwick. The Huskies finished 4-3 in their division and stand at 5-5 overall for the season.
Brian Cote is finishing his second year as head coach at Mt. Hope. Bill McCagney has been the head coach at Barrington since 2004.
