New Mask Guidelines For Bristol-Warren Students

Students and staff no longer need to wear masks while outside, though masks are required indoors.

BRISTOL-WARREN, RI — Following Rhode Island's new guidance, Bristol-Warren schools have changed policies to loosen masking policies in outdoor settings.

Under the new policy, both students and staff no longer need to wear a mask in outdoor settings, including recess, physical education, athletics and other activities, said Tara Kee Thibaudeau a member of the school committee. Everyone is still encouraged to maintain social distancing whenever possible while outside.

Students who feel more comfortable wearing a mask are free to do so.

Masks are still required in schools, and must be put on upon reentry into the building. Students and staff will be asked to use hand santizer as they go inside, and to make sure their mask once again fully covers the nose and mouth.

Classroom pods are still in effect in both elementary and middle school settings.
