New Schoolyard Market in Warren offers Innovation on Top of Local Food

An innovative new food market kicks off this weekend in Warren, and here’s some advice:

Bring your sweet tooth, prepare to watch a donut get made, prepare to claim a composting bucket, strap on your dancing shoes and be ready to bring home a haul of good local food from local food producers.

Yes, it’s a lot, but the beauty of the new Schoolyard Market that opens for the first time this Sunday, July 19 at 691 Main St. in Warren, is that you can sample a little here or there. Whatever suits your fancy.

More than two dozens farmers, fishermen (and women), prepared food vendors and Hope & Main culinary artisans will be on hand to hawk their wares and offer samples.

It’s an ideal opportunity to stock up on some local grub for your pantry at home. Or, you could gather the essentials for a weekend picnic at nearby Warren Town Beach or Colt State Park, which is just a short ride from the Schoolyard Market.
