Obituary: Luis T. Pimentel, 89

Luis T. Pimentel, 89 of Warren died Monday Feb. 8, 2016 at Rhode Island Hospital, Providence.

He was the husband of the late Maria Jose ( Lima ) Pimentel.

Luis was born in St. Miguel, Azores, Portugal a son of the late Manuel Tavares, and the late Teresa Pimentel Tavares.

Mr. Pimentel was a Shipper / Receiver for the former American Tourister Company of Warren for many years before he retired.

He was a Warren resident since 1976, and a parishioner of St. Thomas the Apostle Church.

Luis is survived by his son Luis M. Tavares of Rehoboth, his daughter Ana Costa of Warren.
He was the grandfather of 5, and the great grandfather of 4. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

He was the brother of the late Jose Pimentel, the late John Pimentel, the late Maria Melo, and also the late Irene Moniz.

His funeral will be held Saturday at 9:00am from the Smith Funeral, Memorial and Cremation Services, 8 Schoolhouse Road, Warren, Followed by a mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am in St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 500 Metacom Avenue , Warren.

Burial will follow in St. Mary of the Bay Cemetery, Vernon Street.
